Ingredients for Egg Custard Pie Recipe
- 3 eggs, beaten, plus one egg white
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups scalded milk
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- 1 unbaked pie crust
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the whole eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla.
- Add the milk and mix until smooth.
- Brush the pie crust with the egg white and pour in the mixture.
- Dust the top with a pinch of nutmeg, if desired.
- Bake for 35 minutes and cool.
