Ingredients for Egg Custard Pie Recipe

  • 3 eggs, beaten, plus one egg white
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups scalded milk
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, blend the whole eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla.
  2. Add the milk and mix until smooth.
  3. Brush the pie crust with the egg white and pour in the mixture.
  4. Dust the top with a pinch of nutmeg, if desired.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes and cool.
