Menu Ideas for Children Under Seven

If your child is capable of pouring his own cereal and milk into a bowl, he could be ready to make cinnamon toast. You may want to go through the steps with him first and then observe him to make sure he is good on his own. Remember, if he doesn't feel secure cooking alone and still wants you in the kitchen, don't force him to be alone. He may not feel ready, but time spent with you in the kitchen will help to get him there.

Ingredients for Cinnamon Toast for One

  • 1 slice of white or wheat bread
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons of brown sugar
