Ingredients for Currant Cake Recipe

  • 1 cup currants (black or red), washed
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar.
  2. Add the eggs well beaten, and then the milk.
  3. Add the flour sifted with baking powder and salt, stir, and add the currants.
  4. Bake in cake tin buttered and floured for about 40 minutes in a moderate oven.
