Ingredients for Cup Custard (burnt Orange Flavor)

  • 2 cups milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • A few drops of caramel
  • 3 egg yolks
  • Grated rind of half an orange
  • A few grains salt

Instructions

  1. Grate the orange rind very thin, so as to remove only the colord outside part.
  2. Warm the milk.
  3. Beat the egg yolks; beat into the yolks the sugar, caramel, orange rind, and salt; then stir into them the heated milk and beat well together.
  4. Pour into cups; set the cups in a pan of hot water, and bake till the custard is just set.
