Ingredients for Crisco Fruit Fudge Recipe

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • ½ cup chopped English walnut meats
  • ½ cup sultana raisins
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Put vegetable shortening, sugar, cocoa, salt, and milk into saucepan, and stir till it boils to 240 degree, or until it forms a soft ball when tested in cold water.
  2. Remove from fire, add raisins, cream, nut meats, and extracts, and beat mixture until thick and creamy.
  3. Put back on stove, and heat, stirring constantly until melted, then pour into vegetable shorteninged tins.
  4. When partly cool mark into neat squares.
  5. Sufficient for thirty squares.
