Ingredients for Creamed Ham With Poached Eggs Recipe 1
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 stalk of celery
- 1 slice of onion
- 1 1/2 tablespoon butter
- 1 1/2 tablespoon flour
- 3/4 cups of fine-chopped ham (cold, boiled)
- 4 rounds of toast
- 1 cup boiling, salted water
- 1/2 tablespoon butter

Instructions
- Put milk, celery, and onion in a double boiler and let cook fifteen minutes.
- Pick out the celery and onion and stir in butter and flour, creamed together.
- Stir until the mixture thickens, then cover and let cook ten minutes.
- Stir in ham and let it stand until it becomes very hot.
- Dip the toast edges in boiling salted water and set them on a hot serving dish. Spread toast lightly with butter and then with the ham mixture.
- Finish with a carefully poached egg above the ham.
