Ingredients for Cream Pie Recipe
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup corn syrup
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs, separated
- Flaky pie crust
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions
- Line a deep pie plate with the crust.
- Heat the corn syrup, sugar and milk, add the egg yolks beaten with the cornstarch and salt and cook until thickened.
- Flavor with the vanilla, partly cool and pour into the lined plate.
- Bake in a moderate oven (325-375 degrees) until the crust is almost done - about 25 minutes.
- Heap on a meringue made by beating the egg whites stiff with two tablespoons powdered sugar.
- Return to the oven, cook seven minutes very slowly and serve cold.
