Instructions

  1. Take a pint of cold boiled fish, free it of skin and bones, and break it into small pieces.
  2. Put it into a saucepan with half a pint of boiling water, a tablespoon of thick cream, a tablespoon of butter rolled in flour, a teaspoon of anchovy sauce, and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Stir all together over the fire until it becomes thoroughly heated, then fill buttered shells with the mixture and cover with fired crumbs.
  4. Set in the oven until they become heated.
  5. Serve on a napkin.
