Codfish Balls Recipe 2

Ingredients for Codfish Balls

  • ¾ cup salt codfish
  • 4 potatoes, peeled, quartered
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tablespoon butter
  • Seasonings to taste
  • Fat or shortening

Instructions

  1. Put potatoes and codfish in a sauce pan, add enough water to cover, and boil for 20 minutes.
  2. Drain off water through a strainer.
  3. Return potatoes and codfish to kettle.
  4. Mash with potato masher.
  5. Season and stir in eggs and butter.
  6. Shape into balls with the hands.
  7. Fry in deep fat.
  8. Place on paper to drain off excess fat.
  9. Then serve.
