Ingredients for Clam Chowder With Tabasco Recipe
- 4 cups clams
- 4 cups potatoes
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 cup salt pork
- 3 cups boiling water
- 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 4 cups scalded milk
- Seasonings to taste
- 1 dash of Tabasco sauce

Instructions
- Remove heads from clams and chop.
- Parboil potatoes.
- Cook chopped onion and salt pork, cut in cubes, for 15 minutes.
- Arrange clams, potatoes, onion, and pork in layers in saucepan. Cover with boiling water and simmer until tender.
- Blend vegetable shortening with flour, add milk, and stir till boiling.
- Add clam mixture, seasonings to taste, Tabasco sauce, and serve hot.
