Ingredients for Chocolate Wafers

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¼ cake chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream vegetable shortening and sugar together, add chocolate melted, eggs well beaten, vanilla extract, flour, salt, and soda.
  2. Mix and turn out on to floured baking board.
  3. Roll out thin, and cut with small cutter.
  4. Lay on vegetable shorteninged tin and bake from seven to ten minutes in moderate oven.
  5. Sufficient for forty-six wafers.
