Chocolate Mousse Cake Recipe

Ingredients for Chocolate Mousse Cake Recipe

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can condensed milk, sweetened
  • 2 squares baker's chocolate, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup whipped heavy cream

(Note: Additional ingredients for the cake mix will be necessary. Check box for ingredients)

Instructions

  1. Make cake per instructions on box. Bake according to package in two greased and floured 9-inch baking pans. Allow to cool.
  2. Melt chocolate squares and mix with milk.
  3. Slowly add the milk and pudding. Blend until smooth.
  4. Place chocolate mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. While stirring, fold in heavy cream and allow to chill again for 30 minutes.
  6. Top one layer of cooled chocolate cake with 1 1/2 cups of the mousse mixture.
  7. Place second cake layer on top of first and use the rest of the mousse as frosting.
