Ingredients for Chestnut Biscuits Recipe

  • 3 cups chestnut flour
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1½ cups cold milk
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix chestnut flour, white flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Rub in the shortening with the tips of the fingers.
  3. Quickly mix in the cold milk to form a soft dough.
  4. Roll out to a thickness of 1/2 inch on a floured pastry board.
  5. Cut with biscuit cutter.
  6. Place in greased and floured biscuit tins.
  7. Bake at 425 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes.
