Ingredients for Cheese and Onion Scones Recipe
- 1 cup self rising flour
- 2 ounces margarine
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- mixed herbs, optional
- 1/4 pint of milk
- 2 ounces grated cheese

Instructions
- Add salt and baking powder to flour. Mix thoroughly.
- Cream margarine into flour mix.
- Add cheese, onion and herbs, if using.
- Mix mustard and milk together and add to the flour mix.
- Blend by hand until it is soft and sticky.
- Place on a floured board and roll out with your hands.
- Use scone cutter to make 8 good size scones. Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200 c for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
