Ingredients for Cheese Straws No. 3 Recipe

  • 1 cup flour
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup ice water
  • 1 ounce of cheese

Instructions

  1. Make plain pastry of the flour, butter, salt and ice water.
  2. Roll the pastry out to one-fourth inch in thickness.
  3. Spread one half of it with grated cheese.
  4. Press the edges firmly together.
  5. Fold again, and roll to one-fourth inch in thickness.
  6. Sprinkle one half with cheese, and proceed as before.
  7. Repeat this process once more.
  8. Cut into strips about five inches long and one-fourth inch wide.
  9. Bake in quite a hot oven about eight minutes.
