Instructions

  1. Prepare nicely seasoned, lightly mashed potatoes and mound on a hot platter.
  2. Beat 1/2 cup cream until stiff, add 1 teaspoon melted vegetable shortening, 1/2 cup grated cheese, season to taste with salt, pepper and red pepper.
  3. Pile lightly on to the potato and put in oven to brown.
  4. Be sure that the oven is very hot.
