Ingredients for Cereal Fillets Recipe

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable butter
  • 1/2 cup corn meal toasted lightly in the oven
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream
  • Fine bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Heat the 2 cups of milk to the boiling point and gradually sift in corn meal, Stir to prevent clumping.
  2. Add salt and butter and let cook gently for about 20 minutes.
  3. Pour into a greased bread tin and let cool.
  4. When cold, cut into squares or triangles and dip into flour, then into a mixture of 1 tablespoon milk and egg.
  5. Dip into bread crumbs.
  6. Place in a greased baking pan, brush over with cream or milk, and bake to a nice brown.
  7. Serve with maple syrup or jelly.
