Try adding fruits and nuts to your ingredient list for sweetness, crunch, and even more health benefits. Think outside the box when you adding fruits, like applesauce, cranberries, pumpkin, and dates. You can add just about anything to oat bread to jazz it up and still retain the health benefits. Baking Tips
- If your family eats a lot of bread, use whole grains in your recipes and invest in a bread maker. That way, you can still bake hearty, healthy breads, but much more quickly than baking bread by hand. The new bread makers make wonderful breads, too!
- Don't forget to use a silicone bread pan if you're concerned about fat grams and calories. You don't have to oil or flour the pan and your bread will come out easily.
- Try using buttermilk instead of milk or water in your oat bread recipe for added taste and lower fat.
- Toast the oats before you add them for a wonderful nutty taste throughout.
