Ingredients for Butterscotch Bread Squares Recipe
- 2 cups bread flour
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ cup corn oil
- 1-¼ cups milk
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1/3 cup chopped nut meats
Instructions
- Sift together the dry ingredients.
- Stir in the corn oil and milk.
- Oil a medium-sized dripping pan with corn oil and pour in a layer of the mixture, about 1/2-inch thick.
- Bake at 375 degrees F.
- Boil the remaining corn syrup untol it forms a thread. Stir until creamy.
- When the baking is almost finished, spread the corn syrup on top.
- Sprinkle with chopped nut meats and finish baking.
