Ingredients for Butter Scotch Icing Recipe
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup butter
Instructions
- Boil sugar, water, milk and butter together to 240 degrees F.
- (To test temperature: After boiling a short time, the syrup when dropped with a spoon into cold water will form a "soft ball" at 238 to 240 degrees F.) Cool slightly without stirring.
- While stillwarm, pour on cake.
