Ingredients for Brown Nut Bread Recipe
- 4 tablespoons melted vegetable shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour milk
- 2/3 cup New Orleans molasses
- 1½ cups flour
- 1½ cups graham flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup sultana raisins
- 1 cup chopped nut meats

Instructions
- Beat eggs and sugar together for five minutes.
- Add molasses, soda mixed with milk, salt, flours, raisins, and nuts.
- Mix and turn into vegetable shorteninged and floured cake tin. Bake at 325 degrees for one and a quarter hours.
- Sufficient for one medium-sized loaf.
