Ingredients for Boston Brown Bread Recipe 2

  • 1½ cups graham flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ½ cup rye flour
  • ½ cup ground rolled oats
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together graham flour, cornmeal, rye flour, rolled oats, baking powder and salt.
  2. Add milk and molasses.
  3. Beat well and thoroughly.
  4. Put in well greased Boston brown bread mould.
  5. Steam for about 2 hours.
  6. Remove cover and bake in moderate oven until top of the bread is dry.
