Ingredients for Boiled Turnips Recipe 1

  • Turnips
  • Butter
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Pare the turnips and cut them in slices from half to a whole inch thick.
  2. Set to cook in boiling water without salt.
  3. When nearly tender add salt and cook until tender.
  4. Serve with butter, or, drain carefully, then mash with a pestle, add salt and butter and stir over the fire until very hot.
