Ingredients for Beer Can Chicken Recipe
- 4 pound chicken, whole with neck and giblets removed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons dry spice rub
- 1/2 can beer
Instructions
- Spread vegetable oil over entire chicken.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the salt, pepper and dry rub.
- Coat inside and outside of chicken with dry mixture.
- Place half can of beer on countertop and place chicken ove the can, pushing the beer inside the neck opening.
- Place chicken on the center of a grill with the legs holding the chicken up.
- Using indirect heat, close the lid and cook the chicken for at least one hour and 20 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees F in the breast.
- Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
