Ingredients for Beef Tongue Braised With Lentils Recipe

  • 1 pound lentils, picked, washed and soaked 6 hours
  • 1 fresh beef tongue (not smoked)
  • 2 whole onions, peeled
  • 1 whole carrot, peeled
  • 2½ quarts water
  • Seasonings to taste


Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients together in a kettle.
  2. Cover.
  3. Let it cook slowly for about 2 hours. The water will be almost entirely absorbed by the lentils.
  4. Serve.
