Ingredients for Beef Loaf Recipe 1

  • 2 pounds lean meat
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • ¼ pound salt pork
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1 teaspoon onion juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wipe meat, remove all skin and membranes, then put it through meat grinder.
  2. Add melted vegetable shortening, eggs, crumbs, onion juice, lemon juice, stock, and seasonings.
  3. Press into greased pan and cover.
  4. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees.
  5. Baste occasionally during baking with melted vegetable shortening.
