Basic Barbecue Sauce Recipe

• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 2 large white or yellow onions, chopped
• 3 cups ketchup
• 3 cups chicken stock
• 1 cup lemon juice
• 5 tablespoons molasses
• 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon ground mustard
• 3 teaspoons salt
• 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1. Heat oil in saucepan.
2. Cook onion in the hot oil until soft.
3. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well and simmering over very low heat for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
