Ingredients for Barley And Tomato Soup Recipe

  • 1½ cups tomato
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons pearl barley
  • ½ tablespoon oil or butter substitute
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook together all the ingredients except the barley for twenty minutes.
  2. Rub through a fine colander.
  3. Add water, if necessary, to make three-fourths quart.
  4. Put into a double boiler.
  5. Add the barley, which has been thoroughly washed, and cook four or five hours.
