Ingredients for Baked Pears

  • 6 medium-sized pears
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Select firm and ripe pears, without blemish.
  2. Cut in halves lengthwise.
  3. Remove the core, and sprinkle with brown sugar, using a tablespoon for each pear.
  4. Dot each half with two or three small bits of butter.
  5. Bake until tender and nicely browned in a moderate oven.
  6. Serve with whipped cream.
