Ingredients for Asparagus, Italian Style Recipe

  • 2 bunches of asparagus
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted shortening
  • lemon juice
  • red pepper
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cut tender parts of asparagus into short lengths and set to boil till quite tender.
  2. Take up, drain, and put into saucepan with oil, few drops lemon juice, sprinkling of red pepper and salt.
  3. Let get thoroughly hot, and serve on slices of fried bread.
