Ingredients for Apple And Pear Sponge Recipe

  • 4 apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
  • 6 pears, peeled, cored, and quartered
  • 2 cups milk, scalded
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Place apples and pears in a sauce pan with water.
  2. Cover and boil slowly for about 8 minutes.
  3. Mash together with a potato masher.
  4. Add the sugar.
  5. Mix the eggs with the flour and add the milk slowly.
  6. Put apple mixture in a pudding dish.
  7. Pour over it the milk, egg, and flour batter.
  8. Bake slowly in moderate oven for about 45 minutes.
