Ingredients for Aerated Wheat Gems No. 1 Recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons melted vegetable fat
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups entire wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup white flour

Instructions

  1. Mix together all the ingredient in a large bowl and let it set in a cold place overnight.
  2. In the morning, mix the batter with a spoon, then drop the batter into hot, oiled iron gem pans and bake in a medium oven to a nice brown.

NOTE: Only iron gem pans should be used for aerated breads since it promotes the expansion of the batter.
